This initiative by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center (I4C) aims to curb the rise in cyber fraud across India. The messages warn users about scams such as &#8220;digital arrest&#8221;, where fraudsters pose as government officials to swindle money. These pre-call announcements or ringback tones will be changed every week. This directive, implemented immediately, is part of DoT&#8217;s efforts to increase awareness and protect customers with a focus on being vigilant against cyber crimes.<\/p>\n<p>DoT has instructed all the telecom operators present in the country to play a special caller tune 8-10 times daily to make their callers aware about cyber crime. It is an initiative of the Indian Cyber \u200b\u200bCrime Coordination Center (I4C). In the last few months, incidents of cyber crime are increasing rapidly, one of the major frauds is taking place in the form of digital arrest. Keeping this in mind, the agency has created a special caller tune for telecom operators, which will be updated from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>These pre-call announcements or ringback tones will be updated every week. DoT has directed all telecom operators including Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea to play these caller tunes 8-10 times per day for the next three months. TOI&#8217;s <a class=\"sp_lnk2\" href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/technology\/tech-news\/saavdhaan-agar-aapko-anjane-number-se-dots-new-warning-message-to-reliance-jio-airtel-and-vodafone-idea-subscribers\/articleshow\/116601020.cms\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">according to<\/a>The message starts with \u201cBe careful, if you get calls from unknown numbers from police, judge or CBI&#8230;\u201d DoT says that users will be given a different caller tune every week for three months. <\/p>\n<p>Recently the agency had reported that to deal with such scams, the government and telecom operators are implementing a system to identify and block international calls that impersonate Indian numbers. The government has recently taken action to block fraudulent SIM cards and devices.
